The Daily Word of Righteousness

Revelation 10:7, continued

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. (I Corinthians 3:12,13)

Believe me, the world spirit of America is interesting and exciting. There are numerous alternatives. The realm of computers and other data devices is growing exponentially and there are not enough engineers to fill the needs the demand is so great.

All of this is wood, hay, and straw. It is nothing and less than nothing except as it is used by the Lord to accomplish His work. Don't be so foolish as to go through life without finding God's will for you. Don't be bemused by the ferment. It will keep you preoccupied until it is too late and you are an elderly person in a nursing home. Then you will die and pass into the spirit realm to discover you were tricked out of your inheritance.

God wants you to escape the fascination of the world and find your love, peace, and joy in Him. When you do you will understand fully that what I have written to you is the truth. Don't be a fool and waste your one life!

The second area in which we must be reconciled to God (in the spiritual fulfillment of the Day of Atonement) is the realm of pleasure. The passions of our flesh are involved here. This is the realm of worship.

What drives you forward? What is it that burns a hole in your vest pocket, as the saying goes? Where are your passions directed? Toward another person? Toward your education? Toward a talent? Toward material things? Toward power or political office? Toward a vocation? What is it you worship?

Right now there may be someone or something or some situation that "turns you on." You must outgrow this. The fires must burn down. You can't cook potatoes over a bonfire. Wait until your passions and enthusiasms cool off. God speaks in the still, small voice.

"Oh I must have this or that!" No you don't. If you are so unfortunate as to have God give you that which you are lusting for you will end up hating it.

If you ask God He will deliver you from the passions and lusts of your personality. The frenzy will leave. Then you are in a position to discover the love, joy, and peace that are eternal, stronger than Gibraltar, more enduring that the firmament.

You are to love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. All else is idolatry.

You are not going to be totally delivered from your personal uproar in a minute. But your total deliverance is more certain than the rising of the sun in the morning. Then you will appreciate the waters of Shiloah that run quietly.

The most destructive area of our personality, the one most entangled with the growth of the Kingdom in us, is that of self-will. God reconciles us to Himself in the area of will by denying our most fervent desires, and also by requiring of us that we remain in detestable circumstances for long periods of time. You can see from this that only the most determined of the saints will go through these waters, the waters to the hips and finally waters to swim in.

The largest group of Christians is at the basic salvation level.

A part of the Christians at the basic salvation level have yielded to the working of the Holy Spirit.

Now God is calling out an even smaller groupùthose who will remain in the Lord's prison, who will accept the personal cross that destroys the self-will and self-love.

It is useless to talk to most older Christians about the third step, about the Kingdom of God, about what God is doing today. They are so full of guile and self-seeking they only maneuver, employing their polished administrative skills to get rid of you. What a drag!

I have found that God is raising up young men and women who find the present Pentecostal churches too shallow for their liking. God has a deeper walk for them. They have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.

To be continued.
