The Daily Word of Righteousness

Revelation 21:9

And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. (Revelation 21:9)

Let's see, where was I. Oh yes—Revelation, Chapter Twenty-one.

Here comes one of the angels which had the vials filled with the wrath of God. I have come to believe there are spirit-angels and people-angels. The word angel only means messenger. Moses and Elijah were two "angels," in this sense, standing with the Lord on the Mount of Transfiguration.

Since it has been given to the saints to administer the judgment of God, it is not impossible that the angel now speaking to John was a former human being.

I hope when I die God gives me something to do. How about you?

Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.

In the Bible the Bride is never referred to as the Bride of Christ, always the Bride of the Lamb or the Lamb's Wife. The reason for this is, Jesus is our Passover Lamb. We marry Him, are brought into union with Him, by eating Him. The Bride of the Lamb lives by eating the Lamb and drinking His blood.

This kind of talk is not necessarily appealing to us of the refined twentieth century where we are so civilized we molest babies and cut the arms off people. Nevertheless we will never have a part in the Lord Jesus until we eat His flesh and drink His blood.

I am not referring primarily to the Communion service. The Communion service, like water baptism, is a dramatic portrayal of something taking place in the spirit realm.

To eat of the body of Christ and to drink His blood is to enter the new covenant. The new covenant is the forming of Christ (the Lamb) in us. Christ's flesh is true bread and Christ's blood is true drink.

We have made Christianity a religion in which people participate by subscribing to certain doctrines. In actuality, Christianity is a personal relationship with a Man. So deep, so total is this relationship that it is commenced and developed by continually eating His flesh and drinking His blood.

Whoever eats Christ's flesh and drinks His blood lives by Him as He lives by the Father.

The Bride of the Lamb is not a group of human beings who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. The Bride of the Lamb is formed within human beings as they partake of His body and blood.

Eve was created from Adam. Eve could never be married to anyone else because she was Adam in another form. There was no wedding ceremony because the marriage took place as Eve was formed from the flesh and bone of Adam's side.

The marriage of the believer and the Lamb takes place as God creates the wife of the Lamb from the body and blood of the Lamb. God cannot marry an animal. Christ cannot marry an adamic person. Adam could marry only that which was taken from Himself. The Lamb can marry only that which is taken from Himself.

To be continued.
