Preparation for Invasion

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. (Joshua 1:2)

There come times of momentous change in the Kingdom of God. The death of Moses was one such change. Moses was a shepherd. Joshua was a commander of battle. Awesome change!

Change is upon us now. Change is difficult for people. We have to be like those of Berea and search our Bible to see if these things are so.

The first exhortation to Joshua was that the Israelites would receive every place they walked.

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. (Joshua 1:3)

Here is one of the major problems facing American Christians. We are not walking. If we are to avail ourselves of that which is ready for us today we have to walk! We have to go after the Lord and find out what He is doing.

One of the biggest problems facing us in America is the richness of our culture. We are the envy of the world with our money, cars, houses, televisions, computers, and so forth. But material wealth is the deadliest enemy there is of spiritual life.

We have too many alternatives! We have way too many alternatives! Our problem is one of time, and after that, energy. A human being only has so much time and so much energy. After you use it up you have to rest. Right?

Seeking the Lord takes timeùlots of time, and energy too. This is where we are falling down. We have many interesting things to do that are not apparently sinful. But they are taking our time and strength.

As a result we are neglecting our salvation. The Christian who neglects his or her salvation is inviting destruction. This is what the Bible says.

The opportunities in the Kingdom of God today are overwhelming. Many who are last in time will be first to enter the Kingdom, the Lord said. The door is open now. But to enter it requires time, time that most of us don't believe we have.

So what do you do? You pray and keep on praying and keep on praying that God will give you the time and strength to walk, to press into the Kingdom.

God has great things for youùfor you! But if you do not go after them you will have lost the one opportunity in all of eternity to receive what the Lord designed for you from the foundation of the world.

I'm not kidding. You will suffer terrible loss, catastrophic loss. It can never be made up. The time is now. I cannot impress this too strongly upon you.

We are close to the coming of the Lord. As such the Kingdom is being set in order in preparation for the invasion of the earth. A place has been established for you, designed for you. But you are going to have to walk.

One thing we Americans cannot tolerate is another demand on our time. We don't come to church to have someone make another demand on us. Well, I am telling you that Christ is making a demand on you. He wants the best of your time and energy, not that which is left over after you have spent yourself on the relatively worthless things of the world.

The best time to pray is early in the morning. For some people this is not possible. Other people don't care enough about the Kingdom to make their body get out of bed and pray.

I'll tell you what to do. Tell your body if it doesn't get up and pray it is not going to get breakfast. Then your whimpering flesh will get out of bed and pray so it doesn't miss breakfast.

Your body is just like a horse that you have to train. If you don't train it, it will train you.

To be continued.
