John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:3)

After telling us He is not the only living stone in the Father's house and that He would go to the Father to prepare a place for us, the Lord Jesus said He would come again and receive us to Himself.

In my Father's house are many mansions [rooms]: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:2,3)

We could think of this coming as being His return in the clouds of glory in which every eye shall see Him.

I don't think this is the coming the Lord is referring to. If we view John 14:2-23 as one context, the coming seems to be a personal coming of the Lord to the believer to make him or her a living stone in the house of God.

Notice carefully:

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:22,23)

We see from the above that the Lord will manifest Himself to those who keep His words. The Father and He will come to the obedient believer, the believer will not go to Them.

Malachi prophesies of the coming of the messenger of the covenant to purify the priesthood. Since we Christians are the holy nation, the royal priesthood, the living stones, we may look for a coming of the Lord Jesus through the Spirit to cleanse us from all sin. We believe this coming is taking place today. It is a baptism of fire.

Are you confessing yours sins and repenting of them? I am and have been for many years.

I want to be with the Lord where He is. Where is He? Not just in Heaven. Jesus is in the bosom of the Father, in the very center of the Father's Person, in the center of the Consuming Fire. This is where I want to be for eternity. How about you?

My desire is not just to go to Paradise, although as I said earlier that is a pleasant prospect to consider. I want to go to God! I want to be with the Lord Jesus where He is!

I want the Lord to come and prepare a place for me where I can dwell at rest in my own personality with the Father and the Son, just as the Son dwells at rest in the Father and the Father in the Son. I want to enter that rest!

Do we love the Lord Jesus? When the Lord says I want you to be with Me where I am, He is not just referring to a mansion in Heaven where He can see you once in a while. He wants you to be dwelling for eternity in Him in the Father, in the Father's house, in the Father's fire. Do you really want this or do acres of diamonds and large mansions appeal to you? You can have my diamonds and my mansion. I want to dwell in God in Christ.
