The Daily Word of Righteousness

A Wife but Not a Queen, #14

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:54—NIV)

The Church never is termed the wife of Christ. The Church is the Wife of the Lamb. The saints become the Wife of the Lamb by eating the Passover Lamb. We are being married to Christ now, as we learn to live in and by Him in every area of life. We think those who are looking for a wedding ceremony in the sky are heading toward disappointment. The marriage is taking place now!

When Christ appears He will be the "carcass," the slain Lamb. Those who live by His body and blood will ascend as eagles to meet Him in the air.

If you desire to be free from every taint of "queendom," from every trace of marriage to Babylon, then covet union with Christ. Seek earnestly to be under the control of the Head. Strive to share in His Life so you may live by Him as He lives by the Father.

Do not attempt to force Christ to go your way, to do what you want. Try to discover what He wants. He is not your servant, you are His servant, His bondslave. There is rest in this relationship.

There may be no emphasis more needed in our day than that of turning aside from our religious ambition and waiting on the Lord. It seems there are thousands of voices presenting this revival plan and that missionary endeavor, this scheme for persuading God to move and that plan to bring down the power of the Holy Spirit.

I don't know about you but I would find it difficult to tell which is of God and which is not.

And then there are those who are using marketing techniques to build large assemblies. May the Lord bless and guide them.

As I wait on the Lord, and I am sure this is true of many others, I do not hear the Lord directing me to go forth and try to deliver the world. It is obvious the world needs to be delivered, but what I am hearing is that Christ desires to enter His people in a greater way than ever before.

The Lord is so real today! You can almost see Him if you slow down and look up. He is right there, ready to enter us and be our fortress in the days of moral horror we are approaching.

Whatever the great religious organizations will do they will do, and no doubt great good will come from their efforts. It usually does. But I want to know Jesus and I want Jesus to know me. I want to know the Lord before I try to do some great thing in His name. How about you?

Let's you and I seek the Lord as never before, being positive that He is really directing us before we launch into another program. Let's get married to the Lamb. What do you say about that?

How wonderful to be an eternal part of the Wife of the Lamb! How abominable to attempt to be a replica of Christ, a queen who seeks to "glorify God" by glorifying herself.

I would rather be a part of Christ than a partner of Christ. Wouldn't you? (from Revelation: Chapters Twenty-one and Twenty-two)
