The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Body of the Anointed One, #7

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. (Isaiah 42:1—NIV)

The Book of Isaiah points out some of the factors involved in the maturing and ministry of the members of the Body of Christ.

The Servant of the Lord foretold by Isaiah is Christ—Head and Body. Isaiah describes what is true of the Servant of the Lord. Only those who have matured in this manner are qualified to work with Jesus Christ in establishing the Kingdom of God on the earth.

The main purpose of the two thousand years of the Church Age has been to build up the members of Christ's Body so they can perform the work of the Servant of the Lord—now, and especially during future ages. All the ministries and gifts of the Body of Christ serve to bring each member of the Body to maturity as measured by the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Here is my servant.

First we note that the Body of Christ is God's Servant. Every true Christian is a bondslave of the Lord Jesus Christ. He bought us with His blood, therefore we belong to Him.

God is calling us today to iron righteousness, fiery holiness, and stern obedience to the Father. Those who choose to obey the Father strictly and consistently will survive the age of moral horrors that is upon us. Those who insist on having their own way will perish, even though they profess faith in Christ.

Here is my servant, whom I uphold.

God upholds His servant. There is no power in the universe that can successfully attack a true servant of the Lord. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ keeps protecting and lifting those who do His will with a perfect heart. Those who have "made a decision for Christ" but are not seeking God's will in every aspect of life will experience great trouble in the coming days.

My chosen one in whom I delight.

God has chosen us from among the peoples of the world to be His Servant. Israel, the Servant of the Lord, is one chosen entity whether Jewish or Gentile by birth. There is no difference, it is the one Seed of Abraham.

If we would understand the Kingdom of God we must realize God has not chosen the Seed of Abraham to be saved while the rest of the world goes to Hell. Rather, the Seed of Abraham comprises a royal priesthood, the priesthood that will bring the blessings of God to mankind.

God delights in each saint, each holy one, each of His elect whom He has chosen. He has ordained us that we should show forth the righteous Nature of Christ to the peoples of the earth and bring justice to them. Our responsibility is to serve God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. If we do not do this, if we do not bear the moral image of Christ, we stand in danger of being cut out of the Vine, of being broken off of the Olive Tree.

God delights in us and He desires we delight ourselves in Him, that we understand we belong to Him in a way not true of the nations at large.

To be continued.
