Israel—Spirit and Flesh, #25

And the heathen [nations] shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore. (Ezekiel 37:28)

The above verse corresponds to John 17:23:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Conclusion

The spiritual fulfillment of the feast of Tabernacles is the dwelling of the Father and the Son through the Spirit in each member of the Body of Christ. According to the Scriptures, both Old Testament and New Testament, when that indwelling takes place the nations of the earth will know that God has sent Christ and that God loves the saints as He loves Jesus.

The fullness of the spiritual fulfillment of the feast of Tabernacles is set forth in the last two chapters of the Book of Revelation.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3)

Here is the point at which Israel is one and filled with the Father and His Christ. Here is the eternal Temple of God, the Wife of the Lamb, the perfected Body of Christ, the Christian Church. Here is the good olive tree!

The nations of saved peoples of the earth will be required to come up to Jerusalem and be blessed by the Father in Christ in the saints.

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles [by receiving the Presence of God in Christ in the saints]. (Zechariah 14:16)

The "tree" is one. Israel is one. There is one salvation, one Body of Christ, one Spirit of God, one Kingdom of God.

The Old Testament describes the events leading up to the coming of the Head of the Body of Christ. The New Testament describes the creation of the Body of Christ.

As soon as the Body of Christ has been made perfect in the Head, the Lord God of Heaven will descend in His Glory to the city of Jerusalem. The armies of Antichrist will occupy Jerusalem, but the Lord will return with His army and slay the wicked nations.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. (Zechariah 14:2,3)

To be continued.
