The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Judaic-Christian Salvation, #30

And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. (Exodus 26:33)

It may be noted from the design of the Tabernacle that after we traverse the two thousand cubic cubits of the Holy Place we arrive at the veil. The veil separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. So it is that when the two thousand years of the Church Age have been concluded, the veil will be removed. The Lord Jesus will appear. Then we will know as we are known, the protecting veil having been removed. We almost are at that point and so the events of the next few years will be tumultuous and climactic indeed!

The expression "the third day" appears throughout the Scriptures. The third day, the Day of Atonement, the Day of Reconciliation, the thousand-year rule of Christ and His firstfruits over the nations of the earth, will be devoted to the perfecting of the Wife of the Lamb as well as to the bringing of the nations of the saved into obedience to the Lord.

Notice the following passages:

After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (Hosea 6:2,3)

"In the third day he will raise us up."

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. (Luke 13:32)

"The third day I shall be perfected."

Whatever application this verse has to Jesus' circumstances at that time, it is likely that the meaning is the same as that of Hosea 6:2,3. King Herod, "that fox," represents Satan. Jesus is announcing to the forces of darkness that He will work miracles through His Church for two thousand years and then, during the third thousand-year Kingdom Age, the Day of Reconciliation, He (His Wife, His Body) will be brought to unblemished perfection.

"And the third day there was a marriage . . . ." (John 2:1)

The third day, the Kingdom Age, the Day of Reconciliation, is the time of the marriage of the Lamb. Marriage means the creating of one individual from two individuals. The eternal union with God through Christ to which the Wife of the Lamb has been called is the true marriage of which all other marriages, particularly the marriage of Adam and Eve, are a symbol.

It may be observed that the Wife of the Lamb at the beginning of the Kingdom Age is dressed in the white robes of righteous conduct (Revelation 19:8). But after the work of the thousand-year Kingdom Age has been performed, the Wife of the Lamb will descend from Heaven as the glorious holy city, the new Jerusalem.
