The Daily Word of Righteousness

Justice for the Nations, #2

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4)

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: (II Thessalonians 1:7,8)

The Church Age

God has a solution for the problem of injustice. The solution is the coming of Jesus Christ with His saints to destroy wickedness from the earth. The Father will empower Christ to do this.

There will be no more failures or discouragement. The islands of the sea will wait with joy for the coming of the Law from Zion and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

It is difficult for us who are older to believe that salvation actually will come to the nations of the earth, but the Prophets speak clearly that it shall.

When the Lord Jesus came the first time He made an atonement for the sins of the whole world, not just the sins of the Church but of the world. That does not mean everyone will be saved into the Kingdom of God, unfortunately, but this is because some people will refuse the salvation Christ is offering.

After Christ rose from the dead it became possible for Him to be born and developed in believers. We receive Him by eating His flesh and drinking His blood. Every time we overcome the evil set before us, by calling on the Lord for help, we are given to eat of the flesh of Christ and the blood of Christ. Such is the food by which we are to live.

The result of our learning to live by Christ's body and blood is that we become an integral part of Christ, His Body. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit for the priestly work of the Kingdom.

The One whom the Father will empower to bring justice to the nations is Christ, Head and Body.

The purpose for the Church Age has been and continues to be the building of the Body of the Servant of the Lord, the one who will bring justice to the nations. All the gifts and ministries given by the ascended Christ serve to bring every member of the Body to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity as measured by the full stature of Christ.

The apostle lays the foundation of doctrine.

The prophet keeps us abreast of the present will and wisdom of God.

The evangelist seeks out those whom God has called to be members of the Church, the Body of Christ.

The pastors and teachers disciple the believers until they are prepared to appear with Christ and bring justice to the nations.

It is useless for God to send Christ to the earth until the Body of Christ is prepared to work with Him in the task of bringing justice to the nations.

To be continued.
