The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Kingdom of God Is at Hand, #4

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? (Job 38:7)

The heavenly host cried out in joy as the Father unveiled what was in His mind.

The firmament, space, invaded the waters so that part of the waters covered the surface of the earth and part were lifted above space to an incomprehensible distance.

The unveiling continued.

The waters on the surface of the earth were drawn together and land appeared. From the land, vegetation sprang forth.

Still the host of Heaven watched in awe, concentrating on the revelation of God's intention.

The great and small of marine life surged through the seas and winged creatures of all sorts increased on the earth. Soon the air was alive with the sight and sound of a variety of birds.

So much had been unveiled! But more was to come.

Insects crawled on the ground. Domestic cattle, the members of the cat family, and the huge land mammals milled about, claiming their territories.

The angels observed all this in joyful astonishment.

But the purpose of everything had not been revealed.

From the red clay of the ground appeared the man. Then the woman from the man. Creatures in the image and likeness of God, as intelligent as the angels but having a soul like the Soul of God, able to have fellowship with God, to judge like God, to unite with God in a manner possible to no angel.

Now the angels had a small understanding of God's intention. The holy angels worshiped. The dark angels began to scheme.

The "two witnesses" of the unveiling, Adam and Eve, were fashioned from the clay of the ground. God had in mind to bring forth creatures in His own image, capable of union, destined to be fruitful and to possess dominion over the material creation.

God's intention in creating the material realm was shown in bringing forth Adam and Eve. Otherwise, the material creation has no significance. Apart from human beings, the creation of the earth and the firmament has no meaning, no hope, no joy. Adam and Eve were the heralds of the new day—the first day of the seven with which we are dealing.

Adam and Eve embodied in themselves the new day and were the matrix, the mold in which the new day was formed.

God proclaimed that Adam and Eve would multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. His power has brought into being the accomplishment of His eternal Word. Mankind has filled the earth and is in the process of subduing it.

The work of the first day, the day of unveiling, is continuing until the present hour. Every day, that which God has in mind becomes clearer. There yet are many surprises ahead for all of us—angels and men alike. The revealing of the sons of God, at the time Jesus returns to earth, will be the greatest unveiling of God's mind since the atonement made on the cross of Calvary. But there still will be more to come.

To be continued.
