The Kingdom of God Is at Hand, #24

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. (Galatians 4:30)

As was true of Abraham and Sarah, the witness will come by grace as the true wife waits on the promise of God. The testimony will not be the work of man's ambitions. "Hagar," the babylonish (manmade, man-centered, man-directed) churches, will have nothing to do with it, will not be an heir with it.

As was true of Moses and Aaron, the two witnesses will be brothers. We are being created the brothers of Christ (Romans 8:29).

As was true of the Father and the Son, Christ will be in His Body. There will be the two witnesses—Christ and His Body; but the two will be one as the Father and Christ are One (John 8:18).

As was true of the Holy Spirit and the Apostles, the two witnesses will be God and God-filled people.

As will be true of the Father and His tabernacle (the two witnesses that will appear at the end of the thousand-year period and herald the day of rest), the two witnesses of the eleventh chapter of the Book of Revelation will be Christ and His tabernacle—the Body of Christ.

As was true of Joshua and Caleb, the two witnesses that bring in the day of image and union will go into the land of promise before the remainder of Israel and will bring back the fruit of the coming Kingdom Age for Israel to behold, while the Lord's people still are wandering in the wilderness of the world.

As was true of Elijah and Elisha, the two witnesses will be a portion and a double portion of the Spirit of God manifested among men. Like Elijah and Elisha, the two witnesses will be a remnant, separated from Israel by their totally godly lives, healing and destroying by the Word of the Lord. Like Elijah and Elisha, the two witnesses stand before God and derive their authority from Him. They do not seek the approval of human beings.

The two witnesses that usher in the day of fulfillment are the two lampstands standing before the "God of the earth." The earth is emphasized because the Kingdom of God is coming to the earth. The two witnesses do not speak of the Church going to Heaven; rather, they announce the coming of God in His Kingdom to the earth.

The two witnesses are two lampstands. Christ is the Light of the world. Now that He has gone into Heaven the saints are the light of the world. The saints are the light of the world because Christ, the only true Light of the world, is being formed in them and is dwelling and working in them, confirming His own Word with signs following.

The night is at hand when no man can work. The age of moral horrors is upon us. The day during which people can perform the work of the Gospel is nearly at an end. The testimony of the two witnesses is not the work of humans, it is supernatural. It is the testimony of God in Christ in the Church. What flesh no longer is able to perform the Lord God in His saints will accomplish. The testimony at hand will prepare the whole world, as well as the Lord's people, for the glorious coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven.

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14)

To be continued.
