The Daily Word of Righteousness

One Salvation, #7

He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment [justice] in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (Isaiah 42:4)

What is the role of the Servant of the Lord, of Christ—Head and Body?

To bring justice to the nations. When the Lord Jesus returns from Heaven it will be for the purpose of bringing justice to the nations. The Lord is not coming to take His Church to Heaven, He is coming to bring justice to the nations. We shall return with Him and assist in the bringing of justice to the nations. The reason we are repeating this is that it seldom is mentioned in today's preaching. Yet, it is the clear message of Isaiah.

The Church is the light of the world. By this is meant that the nations will learn of God and His ways through the Church. They will see the righteous Nature of God through the good works performed by those in whom the Lord Jesus is dwelling.

Having your conversation [behavior] honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. (I Peter 2:12)

Through Abraham's Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:18)

Abraham's Seed is Christ and all who are part of Him.

The Church is Israel in that it is the continuation of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the anointed priests and prophets of Israel. It is not separate from the land and people of Israel, it is part of one whole. Its mission in the earth is the same as Old Testament Israel: to be a kingdom of priests who judge, teach, and bless the nations as representatives of the Lord God of Heaven

Israel in the Old Testament:

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. (Exodus 19:5,6)

For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. (Deuteronomy 7:6)

The same Israel is found in the New Testament:

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (I Peter 2:9)

God's elect, His royal priesthood, His eternal Temple, are one, whether of the Jews or the Gentiles. The purpose of God in Israel is a single purpose—to bless the nations of the earth, to bring justice to the nations.

To be continued.
