The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Ruler, #32

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9)

No longer will Satan and his angels be permitted to rule from the spiritual thrones. They must be content to work alongside Antichrist and the False Prophet, being bound to the planet as any other person.

What about the Laodicean believers? They will be "serving God," so they think, in this filth and perversion—just as is happening today. But shortly they will suffer the full weight of God's judgment.

What about the remnant, the seed of the woman? The saints of the remnant have followed the Holy Spirit to places of safety and provision; for they will remain alive on the earth until the Lord Jesus returns to earth in the Glory of the Father with the saints and holy angels.

Can you imagine an earth inhabited not only by wicked men and women of the type that is beginning to be prominent in the earth, but also by wicked, rebellious angels who are filled with rage because they have been cast down from their thrones of power in the heavenlies?

Indeed, it will be a time of woe for those who are living on the earth except for the saints who are protected by the promises of the Ninety-first Psalm.

In that hour the believers will be destroyed quickly unless they are being protected by the blood of the Lamb of God and are filled with the Holy Spirit of God. This terrific spiritual pressure will separate the members of the Body of Christ from the Christian "believers" who are lukewarm in their love for Christ.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (Revelation 12:10)

A "loud voice." The events of the Day of Christ are not secret occurrences known and experienced only by a spiritual elite. They are an open demonstration to all people of the Person and will of God. The Day of the Lord is one of strength, victory, the open revelation of the spiritual forces that for so many thousands of years (and perhaps for much longer than that) have been in opposition to each other.

If we would make a success of the Christian discipleship and be a part of the Lord's true remnant we must learn to avoid the "Lo, here! Lo, there!" little groups of mystics. Christianity possesses mystical aspects but its outworking in the universe is on a grand scale. The world of molecules shakes when God speaks. We, His people, are not to be peeping and muttering in a corner. We are the kings and judges of the world to come.

"Now is come salvation." Salvation, in the Scriptural sense of the term, has to do with the Day of Judgment. Salvation is the preservation of the believer in the hour when the wrath of God is poured out on the world. The outpouring of Divine wrath is vengeance on the sin and rebellion that erupted in Heaven and then was carried into the earth by the serpent—the same ancient fiery-red dragon that now is being forced from his throne and thrown down to the earth.

To be continued.
