The Daily Word of Righteousness

Which Kingdom?, #3

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. (Psalms 2:9)

The coming world government of the Lord Jesus will be the strictest of all governments. It will rule with a rod of iron.

In the present hour it has not become clear to Christian people that democracy and Christianity are archenemies. The lack of understanding of the evil that will be produced when people are not governed sternly by a righteous, God-fearing governmental authority is one of the real dangers of the hour in which we live.

In the thirteenth chapter of the Book of Revelation we find Antichrist, the Beast that rises from the sea, who symbolizes humanism. Humanism is man-centeredness, man making himself a God. We see also the False Prophet, the Beast that comes up out of the earth, the spirit of religious delusion that comes from the fallen soul of man.

A study of Revelation 13:11 through the end of the chapter indicates that the False Prophet is the power behind Antichrist.

It appears in the last days of the Church Era the democratic form of government, that which legalizes immorality and other forms of lawlessness, will be supported and given life by the spirit of religious delusion.

Revelation 13:11 states that the False Prophet will have two horns like a lamb and speak as a dragon.

Perhaps this is telling us that the spirit of religious delusion, the False Prophet, will display the power (two horns) of God's Lamb, Christ, but will speak as Satan (the dragon).

If this is true, then the deadly enemy facing us is a world government that is democratic in form and given support and life by Christians who are able to work miracles in Jesus' name but who speak the words of Satan.

The words of Satan will appear to seek the welfare of people, just as it appeared that the Apostle Peter was seeking the welfare of Jesus when he said, "Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee." Peter rebuked Jesus when the Lord spoke of suffering many things at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes and of being killed.

The Lord Jesus spoke directly to the spirit of the one who portrays himself as being on the side of people against the "cruelty" of God: "Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

Thus we have Christian people attempting to use the power of the Lamb of God to support and give life to a democratic world government that is seeking to "improve the welfare of the people of the world." The effort to improve the welfare of the people of the world appears at first glance to be a worthy Christian effort. In actuality it will be guided by Satan in his vain attempt to prevent the Lord Jesus from becoming King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

To be continued.
