The Daily Word of Righteousness

Which Kingdom?, #6

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (John 12:24)

We see, therefore, that any attempt on our part today to establish the Kingdom of God on earth among the nations of the saved is premature. We trust in the blood of the atonement and we have the testimony of the Spirit of God to a limited extent. But King Self is still on the throne.

Satan is speaking to us that if we will use our ministries and gifts we can make a better world for people. The truth is, until we die the death that God requires we still are of the False Prophet. It is the mind of man, not the mind of Christ, that is guiding the current attempts to organize and force Christian morals on unregenerate people.

We must pass through the Valley of Achor, so to speak. Our personality must be brought under judgment. We must come to know Christ, not just as "My Lord" but as "My Husband."

Neither Satan nor Christians who have not "died" place nearly enough value on the desires of God. Until we have been crucified with Christ we do not think about the things of God but about the things of men. Until we follow the Lord to the cross, learning through suffering to seek His will and not our own, we emphasize only how man will benefit. But the crucified saint is concerned with how God will benefit.

The Charismatic leaders who are striving to build a huge organization that will be able to force the civil government to bend the knee to the principles of Christian morality are repeating the actions of the Catholic Church in days gone by. The Catholic Church was at one time a tremendous political power in Europe. Those who did not comply with its wishes were tortured, murdered, or placed under the interdict.

We understand today that the Catholic Church was not guided by the Lord Jesus but by the ambition of a religious hierarchy. The fact that the Catholic leaders murdered dissidents is reprehensible from our standpoint. Yet the same self-seeking spirit that guided the Catholic Church is at work today among Christian groups. We trust in the blood and we have some knowledge of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. But the head is that of man, not Christ. We have not been crucified.

At the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Catholic officials who tortured and murdered "heretics" will not be forgiven as being mistaken agents of Holy Church. They shall be cast into the fire as the Satan-filled murderers that they are. In like manner, those of today who attempt to enforce Christian morals upon the secular community will be judged according to the satanic rage that is in them. Babylon (man-directed Christianity) shall be burned in the fire of Divine judgment, whether it be a Catholic Babylon or an Christian Babylon.

Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. (Revelation 18:8)

To be continued.
