The Daily Word of Righteousness

Ye Shall Receive Power, #22

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. (II Timothy 2:4)

The Spirit is speaking today that the wealthy nations of the earth soon are to be judged because they have perverted God's way. Therefore the true saints are preparing themselves diligently for the trouble that is coming. We are separating ourselves from the world spirit, making sure (when possible) that our children are well versed in the Word of God, keeping ourselves from entanglement in the affairs of this life, and earnestly seeking the Lord.

There is something for us to do today. We are not waiting passively for the Lord to remove us from trouble because we know from the Scriptures and from church history that God's people always are accounted as "sheep for the slaughter" (Romans 8:36). We know also we can stand victoriously in the day of trouble provided we are dwelling "in the secret place of the Most High."

The Spirit is not speaking today of a "rapture." (Let the prophets judge!) He is speaking of judgment, of worldwide revival, and of the need for believers to confess their sins, to die to their self-will, and to set their house in order. What is the Spirit saying to you? As many as are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God.

Other harmful "waters" being drunk by the Lord's sheep are the concept that the Christians of today will not be allowed to suffer; that Christian people should not fear God; that material gain is a sign of godliness; that "grace" is the Divine magic by means of which the crown of life will be placed on the head of the lukewarm, sinning "Christian."

These concepts are not harmless errors in belief. They have had a direct, destructive effect on the quality of Christian discipleship in our time. We have a generation of believers who are deluded concerning the ways of God in Christ. Yet it is this very generation that God desires to transform into faithful witnesses.

We think the anointed remnant, the "two witnesses," will possess authority and power sufficient to reveal that such doctrines are not waters of eternal life but are in fact "blood," that is, corrupt mortal life. They are the doctrines of men, not the counsel of the Lord.

The humble of the earth will behold the Glory of the Lord and hear His glorious end-time testimony with gladness of heart. There will be worship and rejoicing in the Lord. Many will come to Mount Zion, to the Christian saints, and be delivered (Joel 2:32).

The latter-rain revival will be glorious and unstoppable. The revival power and glory of all time will be combined to give one last earth-wide testimony of the Kingdom of God, just before Jesus returns.

However, God has declared that sin, as well as righteousness, will come to maturity in the earth before the end of the age. Therefore He will lift the glory for a short season (the second half of the "week") in order to perfect the harvest of the earth. Lawlessness will abound on every hand. All restraints on behavior will be cast aside by demon-filled humans. The love of the majority of people will grow cold. The saints will be driven into hiding.

To be continued.
