The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Inner Kingdom, #11

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)

God expresses His power through Christ along different lines. There is power to cast out Satan. There is power to restore the physical body. There is power to overcome natural laws, such as the law of gravity.

But the greatest expression of Divine power has to do with overcoming sin and rebellion in the creation.

God's will shall be done in the earth. The reason God's will is not being done in the earth today is that not enough Divine power to force compliance with God's laws is being exerted on the nations.

Righteousness is a matter of power.

The reason God desires to raise His saints to the highest throne is that He needs them as obedient channels of His supreme power. The saints will deliver people from the chains of Satan. They will heal sick bodies. They will have power over the laws of nature.

But the greatest power that will be exerted through the throne-dwellers is the power of righteousness. They will rule the nations with a rod of iron and will crush all resistance to the will of God.

God spoke concerning His Christ that He would "set judgment in the earth" (Isaiah 42:4). Judgment was not established among the nations of the earth when Jesus came two thousand years ago. But judgment and justice shall be established among the nations when Jesus appears with the members of His Body, with those whose Life He Is (Colossians 3:4). God will place on the heads of His victorious saints the crown of life and righteousness and place the scepter of righteousness in their hands. Then they will go forth in the fullness of His Presence, commanding and teaching the nations of the earth to please God (Romans 8:19).

The Lord Jesus has received all authority in Heaven and on the earth. This is the inheritance of man, for to man has been given all authority over the works of God's hands. The Lord Jesus, our great elder Brother, already has received the inheritance that one day will be shared by His coheirs, His younger brothers.

The fullness of Divine authority and power will be given to the victorious saints so they can bring the Kingdom of God, the performing of God's will, into the earth.

But first, those same victorious saints must be perfected in obedience themselves. Learning obedience requires a long period of cross-carrying service to Christ. It is a sore trial of our faith. We are stretched to the maximum. Let us not grumble and complain, for if we do we will die in the wilderness. We will not become sharers in the inheritance of Christ.

When Christ is formed in us and enters us, a great love for God and for those whom God has chosen grows in us. When we experience the profound, eternal love of God we understand the Gospel of the Kingdom. We truly understand the motive of God and of Christ in all They are doing.
