The Daily Word of Righteousness

Revelation 21:6, continued

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (I Timothy 6:12)

When Adam and Eve sinned they did not go to Hell (as far as we know) nor were they threatened with Hell. They were threatened with death and they died.

Jesus Christ did not come to deliver us from Hell except in a secondary sense. Jesus Christ came to bring us eternal life—the Life He Himself is. Jesus Christ is the Resurrection. Jesus Christ is the Life.

Our object is to gain eternal life. Then we will live in the Presence of Christ whether we are on the earth, in Heaven, or anywhere else. Eternal life is a state of being and we have to fight to keep it and increase it every day, for spiritual death is continually trying to pull us into its grasp.

You have to overcome sin through Christ if you wish to keep on eating of the tree of life.

Eternal death is a state of being. The human being who does not have a portion of Christ is living in spiritual death. He is not in Hell but in death.

The wicked belong in Hell and shall be placed in Hell. Hell is a place of torment. Jesus Christ did not come to alter this fact. The wicked never shall enter Paradise whether or not they "accept Christ." Many believers are wicked, full of spite, slander, lust, and murder. Yet they suppose when they die they will join the ranks of the holy. Who are they trying to kid? Not God I hope!

The truly wicked always will be put in Hell. The truly righteous always will be placed in Paradise.

Jesus Christ did not come to remove the wicked from Hell and place them in Paradise. If He did, Paradise would become Hell just as the earth today is becoming the suburb of Hell because of the wicked deeds of the people.

Jesus Christ came to help us escape the snares of wickedness and begin to practice righteousness. If we do not learn to practice righteousness through Jesus Christ we never will enter among the saints in the new Jerusalem.

Jesus Christ is not a ticket to the new Jerusalem. Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life who gives us the strength to turn away from lust and rebellion and to bring forth the fruit of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. This is the Kingdom of God.

Because Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary any human being can come to Christ and drink of the water of eternal life freely. The water of life, which is the Spirit of Christ, will transform the human spirit until it is in the Presence of God. Then the wisdom and strength will come from the Throne so the individual can turn away from the corruption that is in the world through lust. The Divine Nature enables us to escape the power of spiritual death and to serve God in true righteousness and holiness.

To be continued.
