The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Tail of the Dragon, #4

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. (Isaiah 14:12-14)

The only legitimate will in the creation is the will of the Father in Heaven. Satan has managed to infect mankind with independence of will—the horrid rebellion and bondage that proceeds from himself.

It is extremely difficult for Christians to permit the Father to destroy the independence of will that resides deeply in them. It was difficult even for the Lord Jesus when the supreme sacrifice was made in the Garden of Gethsemane. The cry pierced the night: "Not My will but Yours be done!"

Satan's ambition brought darkness into the spiritual heavens. A number of personages of high rank joined in the rebellion against the Father. A major disaster had occurred.

God's Response to the Rebellion

God's response to the rebellion was to make a master plan that would accomplish many purposes. God alone, apparently, planned the solution, putting no trust in His angels or His saints.

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: (Job 4:18)

God thought of the many things He desired. These included a family of sons, brothers for His firstborn Son, Jesus, in Christ's image and in total union with God; a living Temple through which He could rule and bless His creation; a Bride for the Lamb; judges of men and angels; and a royal priesthood to govern the nations of people God was about to form in His image.

When God had finished designing a plan that would fulfill all the desires of His heart, and that would make the Lord Jesus the center, substance, and circumference of every person and aspect of the universe, He created the physical heavens and the earth, both of which are to serve as clothing for the personalities and things of the spirit realm.

Then God rested, knowing that His Word, having gone forth, would accomplish all He had envisioned.

The physical realm is a clothing for the spirit realm. The spirit realm clothed with the physical realm is a better creation than the spirit realm alone. The angels understand this. Satan immediately came to the earth and entered the garden of God so he might walk among the stones of fire, the people whom God had created in His image.

God knew in advance that Satan would enter the garden and successfully tempt the people there. The Lamb, Christ, was crucified at the outset that He might serve as the Redeemer of Satan-infected people.

To be continued.
