The Daily Word of Righteousness

Preparing for the Battle of Armageddon, #7

"Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire," says the LORD Almighty. "Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says the LORD Almighty. (Malachi 4:1-3—NIV)

The Hebrew Prophets announced the Battle of Armageddon, as we have seen.

Also, the New Testament is not without its declarations of the day that is coming in which the saints will appear with the Lord and destroy evil from the earth.

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (Romans 16:20—NIV)

Then comes the description of Christ and His army descending from Heaven to fight the Battle of Armageddon.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. (Revelation 19:11-15—NIV)

Satan and the kings of the earth will attempt to repel Christ and His saints. Satan regards the material realm as his special possession. However, Satan's defeat is written in the Scriptures, and the Scriptures shall never pass away.

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. (Revelation 19:19,20—NIV)

"Thrown alive" means they were thrown in in their bodies, for they never had spiritual life.

The end of the wicked is assured. This does not mean, however, that the Battle of Armageddon will not be a genuine battle requiring a great and strong people. We must be prepared for such terrible conflict. We are being prepared today if we truly are following the Spirit of God and are not just average American churchgoers.

That it is the saints who will execute judgment on the wicked of the earth is revealed as follows:

Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, To inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, To bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, To carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD. (Psalms 149:5-9—NIV)

To be continued.
