The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Sea of Glass

And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb: "Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages. Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed." (Revelation 15:2-4—NIV)

The above is a picture of what God desires for each Christian assembling.

Each saint is standing before the Throne of God.

He or she is standing on the sea of glass which now has been mixed with fire. The glass speaks of the transparency of our personality when the worldliness, lust, and self-will have been removed. The glass is mixed with fire, meaning the believer has been purified by Divine judgment, by being baptized with fire.

The "sea" in Revelation speaks of the mass of mankind, some of whom are wicked and shall be removed from the Kingdom, and some of whom are righteous and will enter the Kingdom as the inheritance of the saints. The victorious saints stand beside the sea. The dragon stands on the shore of the sea and Antichrist emerges from the sea.

Today the Church is in travail to bring forth Christ in the saints. The dragon, who is contesting the will of God, is ready to destroy the Child the instant He appears in His Church. The climax, the conflict of the ages, is upon us. We must decide at once whom we wish to serve, Christ or Antichrist. The time is short.

Each member on the sea of glass mixed with fire has been victorious over the Antichrist, over the desire to imitate Christ, to have the power of Christ and possess Christ's inheritance, apart from union with Christ. Satan desires to be like the Most High but has no intention of becoming part of the Most High nor is he able because of his self-seeking. Neither can the self-seeking believer become part of Christ.

Each member has been victorious over the image, sponsored by self-willed Christians in cooperation with the world ruler, of a bright new world based on money and education in which man has constructed his own paradise apart from Jesus Christ.

Each member has been victorious over the number of Antichrist's name, the number 666. The trinity of sixes speaks of man thinking and acting as his own god—man elevated to god.

Their harp is within them. God has become their joy and their song.

They sing the song of Moses and the Lamb because they are one with the saints of all ages.

They exalt the accomplishments of God, not of what man is going to do for God.

They recognize that God alone is holy and that finally all nations will worship before Him.

They recognize that God is righteous, even when His wrath is being poured on the wicked.

This, and this alone, is the true Christian assembly. May the Lord help each one of us to move toward this sublime goal.
