The Daily Word of Righteousness

The Physical Area of the Rest of God

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:7)

The physical area of the rest of God is virtually unknown to the Christian churches. Sometimes the believers are heard to say "we shall rule and reign (rule and rule?) with Christ." The next moment they are talking about their mansion in Heaven. Do they suppose they will govern the nations of the earth from their mansion in Heaven?

The rule of Christ over the earth will be a literal, physical rule. Christ will rule from Jerusalem, sitting on the throne of David.

It is clear also that the victorious saints will govern the earth as part of the rule of Christ.

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (Revelation 2:26,27)

There is a great need in the world for righteous government, government that will bring justice to the meek of the earth. When Christ comes He will bring justice to the world.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment [justice] to the Gentiles [nations]. (Isaiah 42:1)

When Christ appears, His saints, those who have attained the spiritual rest, will appear with Him. They will go throughout the earth driving out all wickedness.

It is time for the Church of Christ to realize there will be a literal, physical invasion of the earth by Christ and His saints. The earth will be attacked just as Canaan was attacked.

The army of the Lord can learn from the experience of the Israelites. They often did not demonstrate the stern obedience to God necessary for total victory. The Lord warned the Hebrews that if they did not destroy the Canaanites utterly the Canaanites would lead them into sin. This is exactly what happened.

The soldiers of Christ have been trained with great care. They will not make the same mistake. Every aspect of wickedness will be destroyed out of the earth. There will be no compromise. It is already in their hearts to do this.

The world and most of the Christian people are on one side, pleading the cause of mankind. The Lord and His devoted saints are on the other side, pleading the cause of God. Whose side are you on?

The Old Testament prophecies of the invasion of the earth. There are several prophecies in the Old Testament that speak of Christ and His saints invading the earth and driving out evil.

They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. (Isaiah 13:5)

A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. (Joel 2:3)

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. (Micah 5:8)

To be continued.
