Rivers of Life, #9

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. (Revelation 22:4)

It would not be possible for any believer, in the present hour, to pass from the earth into the spirit realm and then stand before the Face of God. The purpose of the thousand-year Kingdom Age, as we understand it, is to prepare us for an unheard of privilege—to see the Face of the Father!

Perhaps Moses saw the Face of God. Moses' face was transfigured so he had to wear a veil when he came back from the Holy of Holies. The flesh of his face had been slain and replaced with eternal life.

There will be no temple in the new Jerusalem, in the Bride of the Lamb. God is establishing His throne in the hearts of His sons, and God will have no temple, no veil—nothing that separates His sons from Himself.

Again, this is an unheard of privilege. We will be so glorified by that time we shall be able to see God's Face. It is nearly incredible! We ourselves shall be great mountains of fire, of eternal life, of galaxy-creating energy. We shall be the sons of God in truth, and God Himself will be our Father and our God. We shall keep on growing in His image for eternity under the careful supervision of our elder Brother, Christ.

Immanuel. "His name shall be in their foreheads."

The entire concept of Israel, of the Church, of the Bride of Christ, of the royal priesthood, of the elect, is embodied in this one statement: "His name shall be in their foreheads."

We find a parallel thought in Isaiah:

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles [nations], and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed. (Isaiah 61:9)

Again, in John:

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:16)

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (John 17:23)

"That the world may know that thou . . . hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."

It is clear that the elect, the individuals called of God from the foundation of the world, are destined to become the Presence, the Glory of God among the nations of saved peoples of the earth.

We are to be Immanuel (God with us) for the peoples of the earth. It is not that we have any worth of ourselves. It is that God has crucified our adamic nature and in its place has created the eternal Life of Christ. In addition to the re-creation of our personality, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit will have established Their eternal abode in us.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. (Revelation 3:12)

To be continued.
